Mr. Khondoker Shahriar Shakir is an Advocate practicing in the Supreme Court of Bangladesh having an experience of 18 years in litigation, documentation, drafting contracts, making legal opinion on critical legal issues, legal research, teaching in universities, drafting laws, policy advocacy in national and international level. He has drafted the Mental Health Law for the government of Bangladesh being appointed by National Institute of Mental Health as the Consultant, with the financial help of World Health Organization (WHO). Actively participated in the process of enactment of Rights and Protection of Persons with Disabilities Rights Act, 2013. He acted as the National Consultant of UNDP in Global Study on Legal Aid Project of UN. He is an innovator and recently completed an innovation project to make a search engine for legal decisions in Bangladesh with the financial and technical help of A2I under Prime Minister’s Office.

He has been serving Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission, Directorate of Prison, Bangladesh Water Development Board and Bangladesh Sugar and Food Industries Corporation as appointed lawyer. Served international corporate bodies like UNOCAL, Chevron, Lafarge-Surma Cement Industries, Asian Paints. He conducted some public interest litigations successfully for making changes in systems, i.e. legal and administrative. He is also acting as the Member Secretary, Legal Sub-Committee of Bangladesh Poribesh Andolon (BAPA), a nationwide platform for environmental movement. He presents a radio program under the name of Ain Kotha regularly in People’s Radio with an object for creating legal awareness and for heading towards a society of legal minded people.
