What you will learn

In the first section of this workshop you will learn about what mental health is and understand the importance of positive mental health. You will learn about how the individual elements of mental health can facilitate better outcomes in life. You will also develop an understanding of social issues related to mental health.

In the second section of this workshop you will learn about mental health disorders. You will learn how to identify early signs and symptoms of mental health disorders, and confidently guide people with mental illness for proper care. You will also develop an understanding of social issues related to mental health disorder.

Why should you take this course?

Mental health is one of the most important tools we use on a daily basis. What we think and feel, how we react to our surrounding, the strategies we apply to solve problems and the decisions we take in life all depends on our mental health. Understanding mental health will empower you to discover new things about yourself and in moving forward in life.

People with a mental health disorder can have a better outcome and fulfilling life if treatment is availed at an early stage. Understanding about mental health disorders will empower you to recognize the early signs and symptoms of mental health disorders, reduce stigma and misconceptions around mental illness, and facilitate timely intervention for better outcome. In your own capacity you can take initiatives to better the social circumstances around mental illness.
