What you will learn

The first section of this workshop will help you understand mental health perspectives of an adolescent mind. You will learn how to provide evidence-oriented support for optimum mental health development during the adolescent years. You will also develop an understanding of social issues related to mental health and mental health disorders among adolescents.

In the second section of this workshop you will learn how to identify early signs and symptoms of mental health problems or disorders and confidently guide them for proper care. You will also develop an understanding of social issues related to mental health and mental health disorders among adolescents.

Why should you take this course?

The adolescent years (10-19 years) is a time when changes take in the body at the physiological and psychological level. This results in changes in the way adolescents think, feel and behave. The emotional changes sometimes put them in confusion and psychological discomfort and they look for solutions. The need for support during this time may vary from one adolescent to another. But this is a time when adequate and appropriate guidance impact their potential to thrive during adolescence, and in adulthood.

The adolescent years is also a time when adolescents are vulnerable to develop of mental health disorders. Early identification of signs and symptoms of a mental health disorder and care seeking can significantly improve outcomes.

The need for support during this time may vary from one adolescent to another. But this is a time when appropriate and timely guidance and intervention can make all the difference in their life.
